چکیده

The work presented in this paper shows how a simple algebraic manipulation of the RGB colour channels of an artificial vision system can significantly improve the performance of an objectlocating mechanism based on unsupervised clustering. The proposed image processing and clustering mechanism forms the first part of a noveltydetecting robot controller. Experiments with two different connectionist approaches (SelfOrganising Feature Map and Principal Component Analysis Network) and an evaluation of their performances to the desired novelty-detection task are also presented.

Midstream content access based on color visual pattern coding

It has been argued that future image coding techniques should allow for "midstream access", i.e. allow image query, retrieval, and modification to proceed on the compressed representation [18]. In a recent work [1], we introduced the colour visual pattern image coding (CVPIC) technique for colour image compression. An image is divided into blocks and each block coded locally by mapping it to on...

Colour Image Coding by Visually Meaningful Image Patterns

Visually meaningful patterns (visual patterns) are a set of predefined image blocks representing information the human visual system is very sensitive to. A colour image coding technique based on visual patterns is introduced. An image is divided into small blocks each of which is mapped to one of the visual patterns. Each block can then be represented by the pattern and by the colour informati...

Achievable Secrecy Rate Regions of State Dependent Causal Cognitive Interference Channel

In this paper, the secrecy problem in the state dependent causal cognitive interference channel is studied. The channel state is non-causally known at the cognitive encoder. The message of the cognitive encoder must be kept secret from the primary receiver. We use a coding scheme which is a combination of compress-and-forward strategy with Marton coding, Gel’fand-Pinsker coding and Wyner’s wire...

1-D Walsh Coding With DCT Block Watermarking Technique of Colour Images Using Y Channel

In this paper a new blind technique using one dimensional Walsh coding to improve the robustness of image watermarking is presented. The proposed technique inserts the binary bits of handwritten signatures in the DCT blocks of the Y channel of the digital colour image. Watermarking algorithm which uses 1-D Walsh coding to embed mobile phone digits in images captured by the phone camera is also ...
